Tasmanian government must raise the age of criminal responsibility
On the eve of the Tasmanian election, the Tasmanian Aboriginal Legal Service and the Human Rights Law Centre called on the Tasmanian government to raise the age in response to a survey being undertaken by the Commissioner for Children and Young People to help inform an advice they are preparing to the Government on the issue.

The Human Rights Law Centre and Change the Record have are strongly opposed to the Crisafulli Government's laws that will sentence even more children to adult-length terms of imprisonment. The laws will lock up children for even longer, and harm kids, families, and communities.
