Human Rights Law Centre COVID-19 response: new work arrangements

Dear friends,

COVID-19 is a challenging and rapidly evolving situation that is impacting almost every aspect of our lives. We each have an important role to play to help ‘flatten the curve’ and keep ourselves, our families and our wider communities safe.

Victoria’s Chief Medical Officer is advising that ‘if the option exists, working from home is preferable’. Fortunately, this is an option for the Human Rights Law Centre team, so we’re implementing it immediately.

Starting today, our whole team will be working remotely. We’ve also cancelled all travel and are moving meetings and activities online.

While our physical offices in both Melbourne and Sydney will be closed, our work protecting and promoting human rights continues unabated.

In the face of so much change and uncertainty, fighting injustice and defending human rights – particularly the rights of the most vulnerable in our community – becomes more important than ever.

Thank you, and our very best wishes to you, your families and your communities during these difficult times.

The Human Rights Law Centre team.
