Human Rights Supporters Night in Sydney

The Human Rights Law Centre and the Public Interest Law Clearing House are very pleased to be hosting the Human Rights Supporters Night in Sydney on Wednesday 8 May 2013.

The Human Rights Supporters Night is an opportunity to come together in a social setting to reflect on recent human rights achievements and challenges and to energise the movement to tackle the work that lies ahead of us. This joint fundraiser is also an opportunity to hear from the HRLC and PILCH about our plans to play a greater role in the human rights community in Sydney.

Our guest of honour is Justice Edwin Cameronof the Constitutional Court of South Africa. Described by former South African President Nelson Mandela as one of South Africa’s modern heroes, Justice Cameron worked to safeguard human rights in the new Constitution of South Africa, and will deliver a speech reflecting on human rights, sexual orientation and equality.

Justice Cameron will be introduced by Michael Kirby, former Judge of the High Court of Australia.

Canapés and drinks will be provided and we expect tickets to sell out fast, so please book now. All proceeds will go to support the work of the HRLC and PILCH.

We hope you can join us for this very special night!
